Question: Audi Advanced Key function stopped working

I am no longer able to lock/unlock the car by the button on the outside door handles. I took the car to the dealer last week to replace a defective rear license plate bracket...they took the car into the garage, and brought it back 30 minutes later. It hasn't worked since. Two service writers couldn't figure out why it doesn't work anymore. Separately, I got a headlight range detection system defective warning on my dash last night. Electrical gremlins???

That is usually and indication that your battery is going bad. I had a simillar problem with another VW group car that showed the same symptoms. Have them check the battery.

By the way, that's the car battery, not the key-fob!
