"There is a situation referred to as a "melting dashboard". Due to a local Miami TV station certain 2005-2007 year Lexus models now have a recall due to a tacky/sticky feeling on the dashboard, but oddly it is more prevalent on the dash area level below the steering wheel, glove box, driver's elbow storage box, and the non-leather areas on all four doors. The problem I have is my vehicle is a 2008. I contacted the USA Lexus HQ in Torrance, CA and they stated there is nothing they can do since vehicle is out of warranty. After trying to find a resolution to the problem - I found on a YouTube video, the only thing that works to temporarily remove the sticky feeling and the dull appearance - it is WD40."
